Also found in a Gudrun catalog, and a gardening magazine - a mysterious figure in shades of blue and violet.

A snapshot of my first collage constructed in the Patrick LoCicero workshop. It suggests travels to far-away places.
The second collage in the workshop, in progress. I used some images from India and Nepalese decorative paper.

New Media ~ New Themes and Ideas

I recently completed a workshop from Patrick LoCecero at the Gage Academy on "Assemblage" and "Ephemera." The workshop took collage to a whole new level and was so energizing that I've completed three collages along this line in the past month or so.

I've also been to the Mark Miller School of Art for "Experimental Painting" and plan to take the color workshop there as well, which is offered on June 24.

Both Patrick and Mark have you exploring all kinds of media that you might not have known about before, or combinations using a mixed media approach. I find that I enjoy letting the paint and paper "do the talking" and have been entranced with some new themes.

Boats, hats, imaginary landscapes and people, are just a few of these themes. Looking to abstract some floral motifs for the summer.
